A pleasant weekend

I spent some time working on this pastel on Saturday, and it was wonderful and relaxing, since I don't have any homework, or class prep, to finish this weekend. I'd put this aside for a long time, so I was really happy to get back to it.

Today, Steve and I went to see Cloverfield, at my suggestion. I can't resist a viral marketing campaign, it would seem. The movie was good enough, but I'm still waiting for a really, really scary movie to come along. I had heard such outstanding reviews of this JJ Abrams project that I saw it opening weekend...and while I enjoyed it, I don't think it lived up to the hype. Still, not a bad way to spend some time.

This Monday is MLK day, so no teaching that evening. But of course, it's not a work holiday for me either. Ah well.

The pastel is looking good. It's funny that you are doing so much "traditional art" and here I am struggling to learn to work digitlally. LOL I should be updating soon and showing my latest efforts of doing "fine art" on the computer.( I scanned in an oil sketch and then used the clone and smudge tools on it.)

Wish they had an SVC or the equivelant here.I'm trying to teach myself thru trial/error using tutorials and books!

Congrats on scoring that teaching job btw. It must be nice to get extra $$$$ and also gratifying to share your knowledge and experience.

Hmmmm....I thought I had subscribed to your blog but I'm not getting any notifications...I get so confused, all these online comms work differently.I guess I had just better check in once a week and see if you've posted anything new.'s been POURING here, our backyard flooded. >.< Kind of ironic...

Take care and ttyl

Have a Happy Birthday if I don't talk to you sooner.
